Dr. Gosejacob ist im BDI seit 2000 Vorstandsmitglied des Ausschusses für Multimedia- und Telekommunikations- politik. Im VDMA hat er den Fachverband Software initiert, war 1999-2007 dessen Vorstandsvorsitzender und zeitgleich Mitglied im Hauptvorstand des VDMA.

Dr. Gosejacob ist am Niederrhein aufgewachsen; er hat in Krefeld am Moltke Abitur gemacht. In Münster hat er Mathematik und bei Prof. Diller Logik studiert. Nach dem Diplom war er bei der Bundeswehr. Während des Promotionsstudiums war er DAAD-Stipendiat in Oxford.

Nach dem Studium war er in einer Rückversicherung in München tätig, dann Spartenleiter im Maschinenbau in Mönchengladbach und zuletzt Geschäftsleitungsmitglied bei einem Softwarehaus in München und zugleich Partner der Muttergesellschaft.

Seit 2010 ist Dr. Gosejacob Beiratsmitglied der neu gegründeten ondeso GmbH, Regensburg, welche sich auf IT Security in der Fertigung fokussiert.

Karl has been a board member of the media and telco policies committee in the Federation of German Industries (BDI) since 2000. From 1999 to 2007 he chaired the software section of the German Machinery Manufacturing Association (VDMA).

Karl studied Mathematics and Logic at the University of Münster, Germany. He spent autumn 1979 working at the Mathematical Institute, Oxford on a DAAD grant; he was supervised by the late Dr Robin Gandy, Wolfson and by Prof Dana Scott, then Merton, now Carnegie Mellon.

After receiving his doctorate he worked with a Swiss reinsurance company. Subsequently he held management and partner positions respectively in machinery manufacturing and factory automation, and software engineering and consulting companies.

In 2010 Karl was appointed to the advisory board of ondeso, a German start-up company specializing in manufacturing IT security.
